How to check if your National ID Number (NIN) is on the voters’ register

The 2021 general elections are drawing near and it’s crucial that you confirm if you’re eligible to vote if you want to participate in the elections.

Unlike in the past where things were done manually, the Electoral Commission has down opened a portal where you can check if your National ID Number (NIN) is on the voters’ register.

The portal has two options; a) you can use your NIN to confirm your registration for voting or b) you can feed in basic details like your name, date of birth and district of registration and you’ll be able to access your voter registration details.

So to initiate the process, you’ll open this link.

When the link opens, you’ll get the interface below.

So you can decide to enter your NIN or if you don’t recall it, you can click on the blue words to get the interface below.

Whether you use option 1 or 2, you’ll be able to find out your voter registration details.

The voter number is comprised of 8 digits.

With the above details, you’ll be able to check if your National ID Number (NIN) is on the voters’ register
