UCC rolls out 7th edition of Uganda Film Festival

The program for the Uganda Film Festival 2019 has been unveiled by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).

UCC says the Festival will run from 25th to 29th November 2019.

Now in its 7th edition, the Uganda Film Festival seeks to promote the local film industry and to bring all industry stakeholders together, as well as give a spotlight to the young Uganda Film & Video industry both locally and internationally.

During the five-day fete, a number of activities are conducted both at the regional and national levels.

These activities include; film exhibition market, film screenings, workshops, and forums.

The theme for the Uganda Film Festival 2019 is “Film and Tourism in the Pearl of Africa.”

Last year, the Festival recognized filmmakers in 21 categories. The winners received cash prizes ranging from Shs3 million to 20 million.

The categories included cinematography, production & design, sound, acting, editing, directing, among others.

The films are classified into feature films, animations, television series, short films, and documentaries.
