Fit 4 Start Programme has been rolled out for the 2019 edition and African startups involved in the technology sector are eligible to apply.

The project is run by Luxinnovation, Luxembourg’s national innovation agency.

20 startups will be accepted and applications will close on August 16, 2019.

Aside from offering a grant of 50,000 euros (about Shs211 million), startups will also undergo coaching for 16 weeks and network with tech companies in Luxembourg incubators.

At the end of the Fit 4 Start Programme, successful startups that have raised 50,000 euros in private capital are offered another 100,000-euro (about Shs422 million) grant by the Ministry of the Economy. This brings the total to Shs633 million.

There is also another special offer for startups that are innovating the space sector. The Programme says those that will be selected will have access to the data center of the Luxembourg Space Agency. It is the national entry point to data products of the Copernicus Sentinel constellation.
