Applications to participate in the SoGal Global Pitch Competition are still open. You have up to August 31 to apply.

The competition — which is organized in more than 25 cities around the world, is looking for ventures co-founded by women, people of color, immigrants, veterans, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA.

In Africa, the entrepreneurs who will be selected will pitch from either Lagos, Nairobi or Johannesburg.

After here, the successful startups will then travel to Silicon Valley for the global final competition, which will be preceded by a 3-day immersive educational Bootcamp.

“The top teams selected from each regional round will join our final SoGal Global pitch competition and bootcamp in Silicon Valley, for guaranteed face time with top VCs and angel investors, curated educational programming, unparalleled 1:1 mentorship, top tier press exposure, and a chance to win investment capital,” reads an official statement.

“Over half a million (and counting) investment dollars have already been allocated to the final competition from our friends at SoGal Ventures and Draper U.”

Also, for a startup to apply it has to be a pre-Series A-funded company, that is, it has raised less than $3 million.

Apply here to pitch.
