Kololo Senior Secondary is set to host an ICT workshop, which, according to organizers, is aimed at equipping teachers with knowledge on the “new trends” of applying ICT in teaching.
Teachers who will attend will also be apprised on how to “handle commonly challenging areas” of the Uganda Certificate of Education, or UCE, computer studies and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education subsidiary ICT curricula.
Being organized by Uganda ICT Teachers Association, the workshop dubbed national in-service ICT Teachers Capacity Development Workshop will occur from September 5 – 6, 2018, according to an official statement.
Organisers say the event will be facilitated by experienced personnel in ICT who will walk attendees through project-based teaching, use of ICT clubs to spur innovations in school and how to embrace Computer Aided Assessment and collaborative teaching in all subjects.
“It will be an opportunity for the ICT teachers to network and share resources and also get access to some new teaching and learning content on CDS and books which will be on sale,” reads a statement jointly signed by James Wambedde, head of ICT department at Kololo SS and Rogers Mukalele, national coordinator Uganda ICT Teachers Association.
