The latest Android mobile operating system, Android 10, is an ultimate desire for every smartphone holder. Given the multiple ways for you to control your privacy, customize your phone, and get things done, it is worthy to have. Google recently outlined the need to have all smartphones released next year running on Android 10 and has now listed the devices that shall update to the new OS by this year’s end.

In the list, Google is partnering with various OEMs to see to it that some of their devices get Android 10 OS updates before the year ends.

Mobile Operating Systems Updatability

One thing that mobile operating systems are always keen about is Updatability. Just sometime back, Apple boasted about how its new iOS 13 is now available on half of its branded smartphones, less than a month after since its release.

According to figures published by Apple on October 15, 50% of all iPhones have already upgraded to iOS 13, with 41% staying on iOS 12 while the rest remain on earlier versions. However, when taking into account only the devices that were released in the last four years, those that have installed iOS 13 was up to 55%, followed by 38% on iOS 12 and 7% on earlier versions.

Google also shared its fugures, showing how the Android versions have been distributed of recent.

“In late July, 2018, just before Android 9 Pie was launched in AOSP, Android 8.0 (Oreo) accounted for 8.9% of the ecosystem. By comparison, in late August 2019, just before we launched Android 10, Android 9 (Pie) accounted for 22.6% of the ecosystem.”
