TECNO will be launching its latest series of the Spark brand, TECNO Spark 3, on May 6, SautiTech has learnt.
The series, which is in two variants TECNO Spark 3 and TECNO Spark 3 PRO, was first launched in Kenya and Nigeria at the beginning of April 2019.
Scanning through different reviews of the phone from other tech publishers, we discovered that the device will come with a RAM of 2GB and storage space (ROM) of 16GB, and it is expected to cost around Shs429,000, putting it at mid-level price when compared with other TECNO smartphones in Uganda. (TECNO Spark 3 Pro, 32GB/2GB costs Shs489000.)
TECNO Spark 2, which has half the above RAM and the same ROM, was launched in Uganda in June of last year at a price of Shs435,000.
For the aforementioned price, TECNO Spark 3 will definitely wow you with its 6.2-inch HD display, combined with 500 nit brightness and a 19:9 aspect ratio. This is enriched with a resolution of 1500:720 pixels.
For a mid-level price smartphone, you obviously expect bezels, but the manufacturer has given this device a screen to body ratio of 87.8% so you get a feel of a modern handset when looking at it.
Running Android 9.0 Pie and operating on a 2.0GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6761 processor, this Transsion-manufactured device is powered by a 3500mAh removable battery, according to the reviews we’ve seen.
When it comes to photography, chances are that you won’t be disappointed, at least for the price of the phone. You’ll find a dual camera (13MP primary + 2MP secondary) on the back while for selfies, you’ll use an 8MP lens. The cameras are powered by Artificial Intelligence to blur the images, enable flashlight adjustment and enhance the shooting of portrait pictures.
Not only does this generation of Tecno smartphone accommodate a TF card that supports 128 storage, but it also has support for dual Nano-SIM and a dedicated micro SD card slot.
Though we can’t reliably confirm that all the colors of TECNO Spark 3 will be launched in Uganda, its cover can be seen in Midnight Black, Champagne Gold and Nebula Blue per reviews already made.
Like any other modern phone created for millennials, this device supports sensor technology (fingerprint, G-sensor, Ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor) and you can unlock it using AI face unlock.
Note: this is a preview of the device ahead of its launch; we shall give you a deeper and detailed understanding of the phone once we have it up-close after its launch.
